    It's time to harvest your garlic

    The leaves of your garlic should be browning off which is the sign that it's time to harvest. Don't wait for the foliage to dry completely, like onions because the bulbs will split and not store as well. 

    Net fruit trees

    Protect your ripening stone fruit with fruit tree netting. When held taught, it is less of a concern to birds and helps to allow your ripening fruit to reach maturity on the tree.


    Continue to water evenly to avoid fruit split and apply potash to improve yield and flavour.

    Reduce your christmas waste

    Clive and Penny Blazey, founders of The Diggers Club, gifted ownership of their highly successful garden company, along with family-owned properties Heronswood and St Erth, to The Diggers Foundation (formerly the Diggers Garden and Environment Trust) in 2011.

    “We established The Diggers Foundation to ensure that the work we’ve done over more than 30 years in preserving historic gardens and houses as well as the best garden traditions through education will continue forever,” said Clive.
